Founded in 2009 by a group of passionate expatriates from Bihar and Jharkhand, BJSM NSW began as a small community forum—bringing people together, sharing culture, and creating a support system away from home. Today, it has grown into a vibrant organisation committed to cultural celebration, social service, and community connection. From supporting those in need during the COVID crisis to organizing cultural and educational events, BJSM continues to make a meaningful impact—both locally and back in our motherland.

We proudly identify as an apolitical, non-religious body that celebrates the rich legacy of Bihar and Jharkhand—lands once home to ancient universities like Nalanda and Vikramashila. Our community in NSW thrives in diverse fields including medicine, IT, entrepreneurship, education, and public service.
